Weddings are, by and large, an inexpensive affair where one has to spend quite a lot because this particular day comes once in a life of most human beings. There’s money to be spent on the dresses, the hairdos, the venue, the flowers to be used for decoration, the accommodation for the guests, the all important food tat is to be served at various stages of the wedding ceremony. All these become a huge burden for the family of the bride as well as the groom and as such people run out of options when it comes to selecting a gift for either of the people getting married. Most people are confused about the fact whom they should buy gifts for? Are the gifts given to the bride or the bridesmaid or are the gifts given to the pageboy? Traditionally, the gift is supposed to be given to the bridesmaid and the pageboy, but nowadays some of the more considerate of guests, are even gifting the parents to show their appreciation for the beautiful occasion which they have so gracefully arranged. When mankind brings these wonderful changes to traditional customs, it fills all of us with the belief that we are becoming more sensible with every passing day.

So, back to the discussion regarding gift ideas for the wedding ceremony. Lets hear a couple of interesting cases first so as to decide what type of gift items should suit our needs and desires. Couple of days, a famous movie celebrity got married and in her first interview post marriage, she had claimed that the best wedding gift she ever got was a scrapbook compiled by her childhood best friend. The most special thing about this scrapbook was that, not only it contained photos and memorabilia of the good times they had spent together, but it also had the informal speeches and hilarious comments that either of them had made from time to time, over the years. Isn’t the thought of that something so personal and detailed just lovely enough to yield genuine tears from the eyes of a person who otherwise has to use glycerin?
If you are not that close to the person concerned, you can compose a hand written note or a poem to impress or win the heart of the person concerned. But if you are trying to go for something which has a more practical utility, you might consider looking up the wedding gift lists, which some people provide as to explicitly mention the things the require and the things they don’t. Do consult that if you don’t want to find the groom trying tho sell 10 toasters at the flea market, the week following the wedding.
Whoever, your wedding gift is for, it is worth investing the time, trying to source out what would be perfect for him or her. Just because jewelry is the traditional gift item for a bridesmaid doesn’t mean you’ll skip out on your researches in magazines, newspapers and websites.
So, what is your thought on this? Let me know!
