Halloween Wedding Costumes

Choosing a time and theme for your wedding is a very personal issue. To someone, getting married on New Year’s Eve can be something that they have always wished for. Nevertheless, you can look past traditional dates and settle for something exiting. When it comes to choosing your wedding theme, Halloween can be a lot of fun. You can experiment from sophisticated to silly.

Despite what Halloween stands for, it is, at the end of the day, a holiday-one, for both adults as well as children. Let us not forget to mention all the adults who are kids in their heart.

Just because it is Halloween, that does not mean you cannot have an elegant and classy wedding. Nevertheless, play along….

Try to avoid childish decorations like streamers made of crepe paper and bobbing for apples. Thy do not exactly suit a wedding. The main decorating item for your wedding can be the jack-o-lanterns. Now how you design it, is completely up to you. You can have horror faces, fall scenes or bear monograms. However, there is nothing cooler than getting hold of a skilled carver who can carve the pumpkins in a fashion that they resemble the couple‘s faces.

Do not limit yourself to a black and orange color scheme. Use sophisticated colors that give a feel of autumn like sober reds and bright gold. In fact, the reds can go very well with the bridesmaid gowns. Suggest your bridesmaids to wear complimentary jewels with glittering burgundy colored Swarovski crystals. You can even ask them to wear gold silk dupioni that have an orange tone matched with earth colored pearls. Requesting them to wear bright orange colored dresses might be asking too much.

Now whether you want to have costumes for a Halloween wedding or not is a debatable issue. Now you might be fun-spirited but marriage is no joke. It is a solemn ceremony that marks the beginning of a new life. It is highly advisable that you do not go for Halloween wedding costumes. If the couple has a thing for Halloween, there is always the possibility of changing into Halloween wedding costumes after the ceremony of conducting vows are over. You can throw an after party where you can enter wearing something fun. Choose romantic get ups like famous lovers. You also have the option of continuing to wear your suits and gowns and put on fancy masks. Then, you can get a taste of both. In my opinion, costumes for a Halloween wedding is a strict no.

Do not forget the candies. After the entire are an integral part of Halloween and you wedding should not miss a share of them. Dedicate a whole table to sweets. It can feature goodies like candy and chocolates to confections like popcorn balls, caramel apples, fudge, etc. Ensure they are well laid out in tall glasses and served in fashionable trays.

If you have been the kind of person to whom Halloween has been your favorite holiday, go ahead and select it as your wedding date. Be careful of how you conduct it. Look it at from the perspective of a holy ceremony when you should not fool around. After all, you do not want to look back and feel embarrassed.
