The RCC is vast reaching and corrupt, far greater than any organized crime, it is a safehaven for pedophiles, rapists and other criminals – period.

Yunginspirit March 2, 2010 at 4:02 am

Thank you!

box300zero March 2, 2010 at 4:32 am

Exactly.

Yunginspirit March 2, 2010 at 5:28 am

box300; Well, I know that the RCC used to ’sell’ indulgences for members to be absolved from sin (which is wrong!) and have the punishment or part of it dismissed. True, it does not speak of ‘indulgences in the Bible because it was not practiced… not of God.

box300zero March 2, 2010 at 6:10 am

That was not the case with indulgences.
Some members of the Church were decieving peasants into buying their way out of purgatory.
They were not reiterating what was stated in Scripture.

Yunginspirit March 2, 2010 at 6:52 am

box300: The Ministers were only reiterating what it states in Scripture, the Word of God. The fact of the matter is that hell is a reality and peeps will have to spend time there for unrepented wickedness. Of course, the other option is to do good and receive heaven. The RCC was filled with suspicion and false doctrine by the time of the Reformation…it had to happen. Today the RRC is more in tune with the Scriptures and Christian beliefs, in my humble opinion.

box300zero March 2, 2010 at 7:26 am

Of course, because then, like in the case that resulted in the Protestant Reformation, people are decieved into believeing they will go to hell if they don’t do what the Church issues. (People do not question authority like with the case of the indulgences since they fear hell and hell for their loved ones).

box300: I understand your point. A matter of interest, Emperor Constantine established what became known as the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) abt 325AD at the council in Nicea. In other words he began a National Religion, as did King Henry 8th of England (he began the Church of England/the USA’s Anglican Church). In the American Constitution the Government is forbidden to establish a National Religion. Separation of Church & State forbids it. Man must be free to choose how & what to worship.

box300zero March 2, 2010 at 7:58 am

My point being, they are both as believable as the other.
To me, Catholicism sprang a couple centuries after Jesus Christ and so could be more relevently (to that time) factual.
I made this claim after a person on this page wrote how Catholicism is the most superstitious of the Christian faiths. What was he getting at? If we were to look at every other Christian sect, we would realize that they are all as believable as the other.

Yunginspirit March 2, 2010 at 8:13 am

box300: Not true. Christianity is based on the Bible & Jesus Christ, not the Catholic Church. Too, Catholics are one of the more ’supersticious of religions & rather naive as to Doctrine. Still good folks tho. The first Christian religion was the one that Jesus Christ organized when he was about his ministry. He was the Head & organized his Desciples/Apostles & the foundation of His Church. The world Christian/s is mentioned twice in the NT. Catholicism began abt 300yrs after Christ’s birth.

stramdrang March 2, 2010 at 8:31 am

everything done their way isn’t it, have likely criticized checks and balances and not gotten that concept

box300zero March 2, 2010 at 8:57 am

Superstition?
I believe Catholicism was the first Christian sect to be established. Therefore, any other Christian faith is based upon it but tweaked. Thus, arguatably, Catholicism has the least superstition as it hasn’t been subject to as much change overtime.
(I’m not Catholic or even Christian for that matter…this comment has been noted objectively).

Yunginspirit March 2, 2010 at 12:47 pm

There, there…never mind dear.

johnliu64 March 2, 2010 at 12:57 pm

And maybe whatever it is that’s up your ass will slide out before your life is over. I don’t believe in God because of a lack of evidence. The same way that you wouldn’t believe me if I told you that I had four arms and legs.
