Wedding Reception at a hotel in san francisco japan town, how can i add subtle japanese touches to my wedding?

Ok so we are planning on having our reception at the Hotel Kabuki! it was recently renovated to be very modern and even has gone green. we love the venue but did not plan on a japanese decor,and really would love to accent our wedding with the japanese theme.our food and beverages already have subtle touches we want to see it in our centerpieces, and favors , tradition, and attire. our colors are platinum ,aubergine and lavender .

Make chopstick sleeves out of paper for the disposable chopsticks.
Incorporate cherry blossoms somehow.
very tall arrangements of dogwood.. or lucky bamboo…
japanese lanterns are cheap and can be done in a very classy way… (tons of them .. all white and arranged in groupings.. you can get battery operated candles to put in them and not have wires).
Use chopsticks as favors for your guests….
Simplistic table arrangements are best in japanese style.
why not get your florist to do Ikebana cetrepieces? Ikebana is the japanese art of flower arranging, or speak to the hotel manager they could probably arrange for ikebana for you. I’d have the napkins folded into something like the bird of paradise fold. make origami placecards and favor boxes.
You could add some obvious Japanese touches but including bonsai plants, some origami table decorations and maybe some scrolls with Kanji symbols on them with meanings such as love, marriage, long life and happiness would work for you?

That sounds great! I secretly wish we were having a japanese theme, but it doesn’t go with the colors and overall feel that we have already picked out for our April 09 wedding.
That said, why don’t you have little bonsai trees for centerpieces? You can also have cherry blossom branches, but the real ones are expensive and the fake ones are hard to find. Unless you get married somewhere in the Northeast around April, climb a tree, and get crackin’! Lol.
You can always get those pink paper lanterns, have your girls carry japanese fans instead of flower bouquets, and hand out japanese sweets for favors. Also, there are favor boxes and place card holders with japanese kanji on them on theknot.com, you might want to check that out.
