Wedding Planning Ideas

Many congratulations on the momentous occasion of your engagement! It is a very special moment so you naturally want to bask in its happiness. Yet even before the heady feeling has sunk in, you will be flooded with queries by one and all about whether you have fixed a date yet and how much wedding preparation is complete. It won’t help if you protest that the wedding is far off now. Questions pour in as soon as the engagement ring is on your finger.

This situation may soon become daunting to handle unless you are one of those who dreamed of wedding planning ideas since you were fifteen years old. But don’t despair. Wedding planning can be as simple or complicated as you make it out to be.

Here are a few helpful tips about wedding planning ideas

  • Start in advance and don’t panic

Enjoy the period between engagement and wedding but at the same time also focus on planning for the wedding. Starting early and having an organized approach-these are key factors of a hassle free wedding. If you have all the small details under control you won’t be increasingly stressed as the wedding day approaches. In short you will be able to enjoy yourself knowing that everything is under control. Planning in advance will also give you more options in terms of vendors, venues and of course dates.

  • Date and location

Inaugurate your wedding planning by fixing your dates and locations for ceremony and reception. The variety in terms of location will be much more if you are willing to be flexible with your dates. Otherwise with a fixed date you might have to look up a lot of venues before finding suitable space. As for the details of the venue-you will get a brochure or folder containing all relevant details from all restaurants or halls. File them properly and keep them till you reach a final decision.

  • Wedding trousseau

Shopping for clothes for your wedding is considered to be the best part of the event. But it can also be an ordeal if you are very shy and reserved. To begin with, find and visit the biggest clothes store in your locality with at least 2 people accompanying you. Try on a variety of dresses there to get an idea of the kind of wedding dress you want. Ask your friends’ opinions. After that you may visit exclusive boutiques but that is not absolutely necessary.

  • Vendors

Procure a list of trustworthy vendors from the event manager at your reception venue, from just-married friends, or other people who would know. The advantage is that since they are pre-screened, your interview with them will be smooth. The sooner you finalize your list of vendors the lesser your worries later on.

If you break up your wedding planning ideas into such small chores, and enlist help from others, then planning your dream wedding won’t seem that uphill a task after all.
